how it works
A path, not a manual.
Three things to do, ever: snap a plant, glance at your shelf, and snap a leaf when one worries you. Here is what happens at each step.
how it works
Three steps, one path.
You do the snapping. Fernfriend does the knowing.
- station 01
Snap your plants
One photo each. Fernfriend names the plant, tells you how sure it is, and asks which window it lives by and how close. That is the whole setup.
- station 02
Get each one's rhythm
Water, light, feeding, and repotting, tuned to that plant in that corner in this season. Gentle reminders arrive when a plant is actually due, not on a generic schedule.
- station 03
Snap a sad leaf when worry strikes
Yellow edges, brown spots, a droop that was not there yesterday. Fernfriend reads the symptoms, explains what is likely going on in plain words, and gives you recovery steps.
What a rhythm includes
- How often to water, as a range in days, and how to tell it is time
- The light it wants and how your spot measures up
- Feeding, humidity, and repotting
- A note for the current season
- A pet-safety status
How reminders behave
- Due plants rise to the top of your shelf
- One gentle email on days something is due (Gardener)
- A private calendar feed for your own calendar app (Gardener)
- Nothing at all on days nothing needs you
When you are unsure
- Every identification shows confidence and look-alikes
- You confirm or pick an alternative before saving
- Sick-leaf readings list other possibilities
- For a precious plant, we suggest a local nursery
